Blue Meanie mushrooms gets their name from the easy bruising that happens with this mushroom when touched- a deep blue colour. Although this is common with mushrooms, the result is particularly striking on the blue meanie mushroom due to it’s light colouring. This bruising occurs due to oxidisation of psilocybin and it therefore an indicator of it’s potency. For mycology purposes, this bruising is particularly intriguing to view under the microscope as the spore prints are just delightful.
